The 2008 Walkathon and Carnival

"Walk for the Hillcrest Treasure"

 

The carnival, which takes place on the playground Saturday, April 26th from 11am-3pm, is open to the whole community, and admission is free. The Hillcrest PTA will offer activities, food, and entertainment for the whole family including: game booths; prizes; face painting; giant slide; inflatable obstacle course; splash booth; climbing wall; and, baseball pitch zone. Shoppers can purchase books at the Scholastics book sale or browse the vendor boutiques.

 

Enjoy a BBQ lunch provided by Village Market, sip an espresso, maybe even get a chair massage. D.J. Afrique will keep everyone moving with his tunes as well as live performances by several Hillcrest student rock bands. Additional entertainment will include a balloon artist, magician, and jugglers.

 

At this year's event nearly 300 Hillcrest students, will be walking a 1/3-mile course around campus to raise much-needed fund for their Oakland public k-8 school. Come cheer them on!!
