- What is a Sponsor Table? Sponsor Tables Allow You and Your Friends to Everything that Comes with An Individual Ticket and Has the Bonus of Guaranteeing That You Will Be Seated With Your Friends Because You Buy the Table as a Group. In addition, Sponsor Tables will include wine during dinner – Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon from Sterling Vineyards!.
- Why is the ticket price a bit higher than last year? The ticket price is higher because you are having a seated 3-course dinner and hors d’oeuvres at one of the premier restaurants in the Bay Area. Keep in mind that last year there was a light buffet but people were not able to sit down and enjoy their food due to the size of the venue. For that reason, the cost was lower as the venue was not required to provide nearly the quantity of food nor the full waitstaff service that you will receive at this year’s event. Treat it as an evening out and enjoy.
- Is Hillcrest PTA making a profit on the tickets? No. We are merely covering our costs. (and actually not quite covering costs on the early bird price). Note that the Claremont has given us a significant discount on its normal pricing. We are passing that savings along in the ticket price. Remember, the cost of restaurant service in the Bay Area (or anywhere) is only going up. We know that you expect your bidding on auction items to go directly to the school so we think it is important that the ticket price cover the cost of the food. Thus, your ticket purchase is not a donation but your passport to an evening of fun and entertainment. We promise not to disappoint!
- What If I Have a Special Dietary Need? No Problem. Just let Sara Klein (reservation coordinator) know your needs and we’ll address it with the Claremont. Please advise Sara no later than October 31 of any special dietary requirements. Sara is reachable at 658-5881 or saratomklein@sbcglobal.net.
- What Is Personal Delivery? A great way to avoid the checkout line! Every year, we struggle with checkout (after all what store do you know that needs to process over $100,000 in purchases in less than an hour?). This year, we are taking a page from the Chabot School Auction and offering to deliver your items to your home or your child's class during the week following the Benefit for a nominal fee. We'd like you to sign up for this service early so we are offering a discount if you reserve the service when you RSVP at just $20. Early sign ups give us a sense of what we need to plan for in terms of staffing. You can also opt in the night of the Benefit for a $25 fee (after you win that special item you never thought you would get!). Restriction -- for home delivery, your home must be in the Hillcrest neighborhood.
