I WANT MY HTV!
Wow! We hope you had a great time! We know we did!
Thank you to everyone who helped to make the Benefit for Hillcrest 2006 a whopping big success! We especially want to thank the guests who came ready to have fun! The energy in those rooms was phenomenal! We know you want results, so …

Benefit for Hillcrest 2006
Saturday, November 11
5:30-11:00 p.m.
Claremont Resort and Spa
Berkeley, CA
- The Results: Your efforts grossed approximately $250,000 and netted a little over $200,000 in one night! This bit of change should keep our programs going and growing for 2006. We are sure the Hillcrest Community will work together to spend the funds in a responsible and enriching way for our kids.
- The Raise Your Paddle for the Playground exceeded its goal of $50,000! That means you raised enough to cover things like the rock, the supernova, benches and other important items. All of the details for proceeding will be worked out through the PTA so please attend the PTA meetings and be sure to volunteer for the Phase II playground committee (email Becky Johnson) if you are interested in helping!
- And not just to ourselves … The main purpose of the Benefit is to support current year programs at Hillcrest that the district does not fund. Nonetheless, our families strive to support other Oakland schools as well. You raised $1,600 for music programs at other Oakland schools the night of the Benefit. In addition, for current and future Hillcrest families, you contributed $610 to the Friends of the Hillcrest Library – a truly lasting gift.
The Radical Middle School Kids – A big, special thank you goes to our 8th graders, whose hard work sold approximately $4,000 in Heads or Tails necklaces and $1,200 in balloons! We thank you for your efforts on behalf of your school! You kids were totally awesome! Thank you Jordan Below, Natalie Bigelow, Elise Candelaria, Andy Carlson, Luca Castellotto, Haley Davis, Dustin Dolby, Julia Eylar, Natalie Greer, Allison Hytha, Molly Magoulas, Clio McConnell, Lawrence McDonald, Nicholas Petru, Maggie Phillips, Marlee Piette, Dylan Saba, Jacob Southworth, Nikki Stansbury, Jordan Tomimatsu, Hanna Weisenberger, and Kendall Williams!
Where’s My Stuff? We’ve been passing out envelopes on the playground and in front of school for about a week but we have missed some of you. We’ll be there again on Wednesday the 29th from 8:15-8:30 am and 12:30-12:45 pm and Thursday the 30th from 8:15-8:30 am and 3- 3:15 pm. In addition, you can stop by Shannon Broome’s house at 5001 Proctor Avenue to pick up your envelope and items. If you have a physical item, Greg Broome is anxious for a garage that houses a car …. We’d love for you to come and get it very soon!
Discrepancies on Your Bill? If you find an error on your invoice, please contact Shannon Broome BY EMAIL, sbroome@pacbell.net. There’s a lot going on, so a written record would help us to make sure we don’t forget to make the correction.
Justin the auction dog has a home! For those of you who were worried, Justin the auction dog was adopted by Robert, Yukari and Annika Vincent! Thank you Vincent Family!
HERE’S TO THE MOST TOTALLY AWESOME & GNARLY PARENTS, KIDS, TEACHERS, & STAFF ANYWHERE!
