Spelling/Vocabulary: Word list for the week of 11-15-10, with class definitions:

admonishing: adj: cautioning, informing, or warning
austere, adj: severe or strict in manner.
belligerent, adj: aggressive, showing a readiness to fight or quarrel
contemptuously, adv: in a scornful disdainful way
diffidently, adv: in a shy or timid manner
diligence, n: constant, persistent effort; perseverance
menial, adj: servile, low, or degrading
pervading, adj: permeating or prevalent throughout
self-recrimination, n: the act of blaming or accusing yourself
wrought: v: shaped by beating or hammering

Due dates for spelling/vocabulary homework:
Tuesday, 11-16-10: alphabetize list, syllables, accents.
Wednesday, 11-17-10: definitions & parts of speech. (We will develop class definitions.)
Thursday: 11-18-10: write a sentence for each word.
Friday: 11-19-10: write each word 3X; spelling/vocab test.
