Spelling/Vocabulary: Word list for the week of 5-17-10, with class definitions and homework due dates:
bickering, v: arguing over something unimportant
gingerly, adv: with great care or caution
impersonally, adv: without showing emotion, sympathy, or warmth
irresistibly, adv: almost too tempting to be withstood
muttered, v: spoken in a low, barely audible voice
nonchalantly, adv: acting in a calm, unconcerned way; indifferent or not caring
sagely: adv: showing good judgment or wisdom
sarcasm, n: a sneering, cutting or caustic remark; gibe or jeer
sympathetic, adj: showing compassion or concern
unfathomable, adj: unable to be comprehended
Spelling/vocabulary homework due dates:
Tuesday, 5-18-10: alphabetize list, syllables, note accents.
Wednesday, 5-19-10: definitions & parts of speech. (we will develop class definitions as well.
Thursday, 5-20-10: write one sentence for each word.
Friday, 5-21-10. Write 3X; spelling/vocabulary test.
