Math 7: Do graphic organizer sheet for Chapter 5 (not Chapter 2! Sheet has wrong Chapter number!) Due Thursday, 10-1-09.

Math 6: Study for Chapter 1 test Thursday, 10-1-09. On your own: do any of the Chapter Review exercises on pages 58-60.

English: Read Chapter 5 of Boy of the Painted Cave, and take careful notes. Be ready to discuss one thing that stood out for you in the chapter. Due Thursday, 10-1-09.

Spelling/Vocabulary: This week's word list, with class definitions. Note new due dates.

apprentice: n, trainee, beginner, or novice.
clan: n, a tribal group, often of common descent.
peevish: adj, irritable, impatient, or hard to please.
shaman: n, medicine man or priest.
slough: n, a muddy, swampy area.
specialized: v, concentrated on a specific activity.
stunted: adj, abnormally slowed in growth or development.
taboo: n, a rule that forbids or excludes; a restriction.

Thursday 9-24: Look up definitions and part of speech for each word. We will generate definitions in class on Tuesday for sentences. Due Tuesday, 9-29-09.
Tuesday 9-29: Write a sentence for each word from class definitions. Due Wednesday, 9-30-09.
Wednesday 9-30: Write each word 3 times, study for spelling/vocabulary test on Thursday, 10-1-09.
Thursday 10-1: Spelling/vocabulary test. All 10 words tested for spelling; 5 of 10 tested for vocabulary.
