Vocab/Spelling 10/26-30
Spelling/Vocabulary Due Dates:
Due Tuesday, 10-27-09: syllables, accent marks, alphabetize list.
Due Wednesday, 10-28-09: look up definitions & part of speech. We will develop definitions in class to use for sentences.
Due Thursday, 10-29-09: write a sentence for each word.
Due Friday, 10-30-09: write each word 3 times. Spelling/vocabulary test on Friday, 10-30-09.
1. corral- an enclosed pen for livestock
2. tornado- a violent, funnel shaped twister
3. tomato- a usually red fruit mistaken for a vegetable
4. mosquito- a blood sucking, flying insect
5. vanilla- extract from beans
6. stampede- a sudden, frenzied rush of a group
7. coyote- a small, wolf-like animal
8. cafeteria- a self-serve dining hall
9. tortillas- a thin, round flour or corn bread
10. cocoa- a chocolaty powder
11. guitar- a 6 or 12 string fretted instrument
12. rodeo- an exhibit of cowpeople skills
13. patio- a small terrace
14. jaguar- a large, spotted feline
15. alligator- a broad-snouted, large reptile
